This Australian Zebra Rock Sphere is composed of Pre Cambrian argillite, with a unique pattern of red bands and spots, believed to have been formed over 600 million years ago. It is currently only found in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, and is thought to have been deposited as sediment under calm and deep water conditions. The striking contrast of red iron oxide against a lighter background adds to the intrigue of this rare stone.
