This remarkable Tiger Iron sphere originates from Western Australia, where it is formed by alternating bands of hematite, tiger eye, and jasper. It is extracted from an archaen formation that dates back 3 thousand million years, located in the Ord range near Mt Goldsworthy. Tiger-Eye, which was once Crocodilite 50 million years ago, is typically golden-yellow, although other colors such as blue, red, green, and brown have also been discovered.
